Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day/night rotation available; self-scheduling with requests accommodated when possible; patient ratios of 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry
Highlights:
- 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care level of acuity
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; high acuity PCU experience is essential
- Self-schedule requests honored when feasible; orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by 36 hours with a dedicated preceptor
- Treat patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Epic EMR; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services
- Strong focus on infection prevention and patient safety protocols
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of high acuity PCU patient experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Proficiency in accessing ports, managing central and PICC lines, administering blood products, PCA pumps, cardiac drips, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- Experience interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- 2 professional references including at least one from a manager or director
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
