Description
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night or Night); rotating assignments based on departmental needs; 4:1 patient ratio; weekend coverage as needed

- Ideal for med-surg nurses looking to enhance palliative care skills while maintaining high-acuity clinical experience through floating opportunities
- 72-hour orientation with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
- Epic charting system; work with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Required float to units of equivalent or lower acuity; gain exposure to diverse inpatient settings prior to unit opening on July 1, 2026
- 13-week travel assignment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) in hand at time of submission
- Experience with pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain interventions and equianalgesic opioid dosing
- Skills required: IV starts and management, phlebotomy, oxygen administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, and med-surg/telemetry background
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or director)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
