Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, minimum 3 weekend shifts every six weeks

Highlights:

• Specialized neuro stepdown unit with intermediate medical-surgical patients, 24-bed unit with varied case mix
• Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, physical therapy, and pharmacy
• Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available; 48-hour shifts can be offered
• 32 hours of orientation including computer training and unit-based preceptorship
• Floating to other intermediate and critical care units based on census needs
• No on-call requirement

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience; neuro stepdown or PCU/stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• North Carolina or Compact state RN license (must be active by start date)
• Must be able to titrate vasoactive drips including Levophed and manage cardiac drips
• Proficiency in neurological conditions including CVA, traumatic brain injury, craniotomy, post-TPA care, seizure disorders, and spinal cord injury
• Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central line care, ventilated patient care, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Competency with heparin protocols, insulin drips, PCA, thrombolytic agents, and blood product administration
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
