Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights based on departmental needs); reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
Highlights:
- Specialized 36-bed Bone Marrow Transplant unit treating complex hematology/oncology patient populations
- Advanced treatment modalities including autologous, allogeneic, and syngeneic transplants, plus CAR-T therapy
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and respiratory services
- 72-hour orientation with float opportunities to other medical-surgical oncology units
- Patient diagnoses include ALL, AML, multiple myeloma, lymphomas, leukemias, and myelodysplastic syndromes
- Daily census of 33 patients across mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical settings
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
- Medical-surgical and oncology experience required (minimum 1 year); hematology/oncology strongly preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certification preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line management, PICC lines, and port care
- Epic charting system experience required
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- 2 professional references including at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership role

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
