Description
Start Date: April 27, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM; 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required
Highlights:
- General Med/Surg unit with adults and geriatric patients; daily census approximately 43
- Patient ratio 1:6-7 with charge nurse responsibilities for night shift travelers
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 13-26 week assignments available with comprehensive 24-hour orientation
- Manage insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high-flow oxygen
- Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- BLS certification required; CPI preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Competency with insulin and heparin drip management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
- Ability to work holidays and participate in inclement weather team assignments
- Willingness to provide care to COVID-positive patients when necessary
