Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignments available

Highlights:

• Post-cardiac surgery unit specializing in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients
• 24-hour orientation with Epic EMR and comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks with flexible scheduling
• Float within unit rotation – not first to float
• Experience with advanced cardiac interventions including TAVR, Watchman procedures, and sheath management

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac floor experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has 24+ months of cardiac experience
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip titration, sheath removal, and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with chest tubes, non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BiPAP, and nasal cannula
• Competency in managing post-MI patients and cardiac surgical patients
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting experience preferred
