Job Opportunity – Correctional Registered Nurse – New Mexico

Start Date: June 1, 2026

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week with every other weekend required; 36 hours per week guaranteed with up to 3 call-offs permitted during 13-week assignment; block scheduling available

Highlights:

• Work in a correctional healthcare setting serving a daily population of approximately 1,640 inmates
• Provide comprehensive care including routine and emergency healthcare, health assessments, detoxification management, and triage
• Utilize Cerner charting system with interdisciplinary support from pharmacy, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• MOAB de-escalation certification provided during orientation for qualified candidates
• Minimum 10-week contract with 36-hour orientation period
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements:

• Active New Mexico RN license or compact license (pending licenses accepted; provisional licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• 1 year Emergency Department experience OR Medical-Surgical experience in a busy, large facility (correctional experience alone requires additional screening)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• MOAB certification required (facility will provide 4-hour de-escalation course during first week if not already certified)
• Skills required: phlebotomy, IV initiation and maintenance, high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, isolation precautions, and oxygen administration
• Must reside outside 100-mile radius of the facility
• Personal transportation required due to facility location
• Must pass facility background check and drug screening
• Flu vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
• First-time travelers accepted with prior relevant experience
