Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend and every other holiday; 2:1 patient ratio

Highlights:

• 12-bed critical care unit specializing in life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Diverse case mix including CNS tumors, complex spine surgery, acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and status epilepticus
• Epic charting system required; 24 hours of orientation provided
• 13-week contract with up to 40 hours of approved time off
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Daily census of approximately 10 patients with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations

Requirements:

• Active or pending RN license in Virginia (must be in-hand the Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 2:1 patient ratio experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (may submit with pending certification)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and infection prevention
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Willingness to float within scope of practice per facility policy
