Description
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).
Highlights:
- Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with post-surgical and med-surg patient populations
- Patient ratios typically 5-6:1, with occasional flex to 7:1 in extreme cases
- 13-week contract with up to 7 days requested time off (no holiday RTO approved)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Opportunity to care for total joint replacement, spinal cord injury, and ortho trauma patients in a customer service-oriented environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with orthopedic work experience required
- Epic EMR experience required (first-time travelers accepted with Epic experience)
- Current North Carolina or Compact RN license (pending at submission, required at start)
- BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- ACLS preferred
- Skills: IV start, telemetry interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, pain management including PCA and peripheral nerve blocks
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Flexibility to float to other med-surg units based on census and staffing needs
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
