Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Work in a Comprehensive Stroke Center with a high-acuity Neuro ICU patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1, with occasional flex to 3:1 during high census periods
• 13-week contract with 24 hours of orientation (2 shifts)
• Average daily census of 11–12 patients in a 13-bed unit
• Epic charting system with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, PT, rapid response, pharmacy, and more
• No on-call requirement

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU experience does not qualify)
• Strong background in stroke care, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke management
• Experienced traveler only – first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in ventilator management, IV starts, central line care, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, continuous IV sedation, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-neurosurgery care, and isolation precautions
• Willingness to float to other units as needed based on census and skill set
• Flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions only)
