Job Opportunity – Cardiothoracic/Vascular ICU RN – New Mexico

Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week (guaranteed), 1:2 patient ratios, weekend coverage as needed, floating within scope may be required

Highlights:

• Work in a 12-bed Cardiothoracic/Vascular ICU at a Level I Trauma, teaching facility with 554 total staffed beds
• Care for complex cardiac and vascular surgery patients including post-op open hearts, CABG, aortic repairs, and heart failure cases
• Utilize advanced life support technologies including ECMO, CRRT, Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and ventricular assist devices
• Charting via Cerner EMR with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Minimum 10-week assignment with 72 hours of orientation; first-time travelers accepted
• Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with no parking fees

Requirements:

• Active RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, ventilator management, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medication titration
• Proficiency with advanced cardiac devices and procedures including bedside surgical procedures, chest tube management, CRRT, ECMO, and hemodynamic monitoring
• COVID vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted); flu vaccination required with exemptions available
• Must reside outside 100-mile radius from facility; valid non-local driver's license required
