Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit combining PCU and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry patients in a 48-bed facility
• Patient ratios typically 1:4-5, with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including admission/discharge nurse, assistant nurse manager, vascular access team, and rapid response team
• Common patient population includes COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with ventilators, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and cardiac drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin)
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 6-week period; float to like units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tube management preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted
