Description
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 13-26 week assignment, every other weekend required, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical unit with oncology patient population; daily census of 42 beds
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV, PO, or injection routes
- Epic charting system with 24-hour orientation (2 shifts)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and lift teams
- Opportunity to care for diverse patient diagnoses including sepsis, AKI, cancer, diabetic complications, and more
- First-time travelers welcome; locals accepted
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an inpatient setting
- Current BLS certification required
- Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) and ability to administer chemotherapy required
- Proficiency in Med/Surg skills including port access, blood product administration, central line management, PICC lines, wound care, chest tubes, and isolation precautions
- Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations including ED holding areas
- Ability to participate in storm/hurricane team and respond during catastrophic events or disasters
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
