Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (weekdays and weekends); 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity; blocked schedules considered for weekend-only requests (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday)

Highlights:

• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• 10-bed specialized cardiac care unit focused on cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies
• Direct fresh open-heart admissions from OR with advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz, Impella, and IABP management
• Complex cardiac case mix including STEMI patients, cardiogenic shock, post-cardiac cath complications, and medical cardiology
• Cerner EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 24 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Current RN license (West Virginia or Compact state accepted; pending license acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association), and NIH Stroke Scale
• Critical ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required
• Demonstrated expertise in direct open-heart admissions from OR, cardiac surgery nursing, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• Proficiency in arterial line management, continuous IV sedation, ventilator care, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with ventricular assist devices, IABP, procedural sedation, and chest tube management preferred
• Permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years
