Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: June 29, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour weekend night shifts (Friday/Saturday + 1 additional day per week) | 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (36 hours/week)

Highlights:

• Float Pool position serving multiple intensive care units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts with 36 hours of orientation provided
• Large academic medical center with 900+ bed capacity and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• EPIC charting system utilized across all units
• Exposure to advanced procedures including transplant care (kidney, liver, lung, heart), EVD management, temporary pacemakers, and complex ventilator management
• Every-other-weekend minimum requirement with flexibility built into schedule

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS is mandatory)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator management
• Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
• Travel nursing experience required
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership position
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity based on staffing needs
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
