Description
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, 13-26 week contracts available
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical unit with oncology patient population; primary focus on general med/surg diagnoses with chemotherapy administration
- Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on a 42-bed unit
- Epic EMR system with 24-hour orientation period (2 shifts)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, lift teams, and more
- Flexibility for first-time travelers and local candidates accepted
- Opportunity to work with complex patient diagnoses including sepsis, DKA with insulin drips, AKI, and wound care
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience in an inpatient setting
- Oncology Nursing Certification (ONS/ONCC) required – must be able to administer chemotherapy
- BLS certification required
- Proficiency in Med/Surg skills including: colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Must be comfortable floating to similar units and alternate care locations including the ED when needed
- Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team and respond during catastrophic events or disasters
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
