Description
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Specialty neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke patients, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:6 with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 13-week contracts available with 36 hours of orientation provided
- Daily census of approximately 50 patients across a 55-bed unit
- Includes specialized 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience
- Prior travel experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
- At least 2 successful travel contracts completed before applying
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license required at start
- BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Ability to float to other Medical Surgical and Telemetry units as needed
- Epic charting experience highly preferred
