Description
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with charge nurse in assignment, orientation provided (72 hours)
Highlights:
- Specialized observation unit managing short-stay patients (up to two midnights) with efficient, high-quality care model
- Diverse patient population including oncology, post-procedure, acute kidney injury, and symptom management cases
- Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and respiratory services
- Opportunities for professional growth with occasional float to ED for inpatient telemetry patients (orientation provided)
- Comprehensive support staff including RNs, PCAs, and UCAs; telemetry monitoring on unit
- First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
- BCLS certification required; ACLS and OCN preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV starts, PICC line management, and MS/Tele nursing
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and insulin protocols
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
