Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Clinical Documentation Specialist – New Jersey

Start Date: June 8, 2026

Location: Remote (New Jersey)

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Self-scheduling with 8.5-hour shifts (including 30-minute lunch). Working hours must fall between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Average of 11 charts completed daily.

• Serve as a liaison between CMO, HIM Department, Inpatient Coders, Quality Officers, and Physicians
• Concurrent review with focus on query management, comorbid conditions (CCs/MCCs), and severity of illness documentation
• CCDS Certification preferred; Clinical Competency Exam required prior to interview

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of current Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience
• MUST have 5 years of Emergency Department, ICU, or Telemetry nursing experience
• 8 years of combined nursing and CDI experience required
• Advanced understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR, EPIC CDI software, and Solventum encoder software
• Strong knowledge of AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines for compliant queries, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines
• Must pass Clinical Competency Exam via Zoom prior to interview
• CCDS Certification preferred
