Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; patient ratio 1:4-5; floating between acute care/med-surg units
Highlights:
- Brand new Acute Care Surgery and Emergency General Surgery unit opening
- Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds
- Epic charting system (hardstop requirement)
- 27-bed unit with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with acute care surgery, emergency general surgery, and med-surg overflow
- 24 hours of paid orientation provided
Requirements:
- Current RN license (Compact accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Epic charting system experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications (current)
- Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Proficiency in blood product administration, chest tubes, PICC line management, central line blood draws, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, and post-operative care
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
