Job Opportunity – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – North Carolina

Start Date: July 1, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), with on-call requirement of 3 shifts per 6-week period

Highlights:

  • Community hospital setting providing care across Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, and Med/Surgical floors
  • 50-60% of cases involve NICU and PICU, with daily census of 10-15 patients
  • Epic charting system with 24-30 hours of orientation provided
  • 13-week contract available with potential for local candidates
  • Comprehensive scope of practice including ventilator/NIV management, ABGs, airway management, and bronchoscopy support
  • First-time travelers welcome with strong pediatric and neonatal background

Requirements:

  • North Carolina Respiratory Therapy license or Compact license (required at start)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Required experience: Neonatal and Pediatric patient populations (NICU and PICU experience mandatory)
  • Preferred experience: NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Pediatric ED, and Labor & Delivery
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, NPS
  • Skills required: Airway management, medication administration, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy support, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, CPAP
  • Willingness to float throughout pediatric units and floors as needed
