Description
Start Date: June 10, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), with on-call requirement of 3 shifts per 6-week period
Highlights:
- Community hospital setting providing respiratory care across all patient populations including Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, and medical/surgical floors
- 50-60% of daily caseload involves NICU and PICU patients – specialized pediatric and neonatal experience essential
- Work with Epic charting system in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
- 13-week contract with 24-30 hours of orientation provided
- Diverse scope of practice including ventilator/NIV management, arterial blood gases, airway management, and advanced respiratory therapies
- First-time travelers welcome; floating to pediatric units and floors as needed
Requirements:
- Current North Carolina or Compact state RRT license required in hand at start
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Neonatal and pediatric experience mandatory; NICU and PICU experience highly preferred
- Pediatric Emergency Department experience strongly desired
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT required; NPS preferred
- Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopes, nebulizers, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Labor and Delivery experience is a plus
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
