Description
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with on-call rotation
Highlights:
- Outpatient hospice role with approximately 5 patient visits per day; average daily census of 63
- 13-week contract with 40 hours per week; local candidates approved at travel rate
- Epic EMR system; comprehensive 40-hour unit orientation in addition to general orientation
- On-call rotation includes weekend coverage (Friday-Sunday, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM) every 4-5 weeks
- Primarily geriatric patient population requiring end-of-life care and symptom management
- Mileage reimbursement provided at IRS standard rate
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Home Health/Hospice and Skilled Nursing facility experience required
- Demonstrated competency in end-of-life care including after-treatment survivorship care and cultural awareness
- Strong pain management and medication administration skills including WHO Analgesic Ladder, breakthrough dosing, and utilization of pain scales
- Proficiency in symptom assessment and management (altered mental status, anorexia/cachexia, nausea/vomiting, constipation/diarrhea, pressure ulcer staging)
- Experience with Medicare state regulations, patient/family education, goal setting, and intake assessments
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
