Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Work in a comprehensive stroke center with a specialized neuro critical care patient population
• Patient ratios typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods
• Average daily census of 11-12 patients in a 13-bed unit
• Utilize Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Manage complex neuro cases including strokes, craniotomies, EVDs, lumbar drains, and post-neurosurgery patients
• 24-hour orientation period with comprehensive onboarding

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required – general ICU experience alone does not qualify
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong clinical skills in stroke management, ventilator care, IV starts, blood product administration, central line management, continuous IV sedation, EVD/lumbar drain care, ICP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Willingness to float within the facility as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
