Description
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Highlights:
- 13 to 26 week contract assignment with comprehensive 24-hour orientation
- Progressive care unit specializing in cardiac monitoring with patient ratios of 1:6-7
- Advanced cardiac procedures including sheath pulls, TR bands, Femstop, and cardiac drip titration
- Epic EMR system with robust interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and respiratory services
- Experience with pre/post cardiac cath patients, cardiac surgery, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- 43-bed unit caring for congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pacemaker/ICD patients
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry and Progressive Care/Stepdown experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Strong cardiac telemetry skills with dysrhythmia interpretation and remote monitoring experience
- Demonstrated competency in pre/post cardiac cath care, cardiac surgery patients, and sheath removal
- Experience with central lines, PICC lines, accessing ports, and blood product administration
- Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, and Dopamine
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Willingness to float to other units as needed, potentially every shift
- Flexibility to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events if required
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
