Description

Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Alaska

Start Date: June 22, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 variable shifts, every other weekend required, 60 guaranteed hours per two-week pay period

Highlights:

High-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily, up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
State-of-the-art Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 10 LDR rooms, 10 OB triage rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
13-week travel assignment with 36 hours of orientation and opportunity to work at a Level II Trauma Center recognized as the best hospital in Alaska
Free parking provided; uniforms supplied by facility
Advanced skill set including experience with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, neonatal resuscitation, and specialized procedures

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission but must be in hand before start)
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
Epic charting experience strongly preferred
Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
