Description
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week. No call, no float, no weekends required. 13-week assignment with up to 7 days pre-approved time off.
Highlights:
- Fast-paced ambulatory surgery center specializing in ENT and ophthalmology procedures with 6 operating rooms
- Diverse patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Average daily census of 45 cases across ENT surgery, cataracts, ocular plastics, and head and neck procedures
- Epic EMR system required; SBAR communication protocols in place
- 40-hour orientation provided; scrubs supplied by facility
- Collaborative environment with interpretation services, pharmacy support, and unit secretary assistance
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- North Carolina or Compact nursing license (pending acceptable for submission)
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong ambulatory OR experience with proficiency in scrubbing ENT procedures
- Adult ENT skills: Endoscopic sinus procedures, laryngectomy, mastoidectomy/tympanoplasty, radical neck dissection, septoplasty/rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and tracheostomy
- Pediatric ENT skills: Myringotomy with tubes, scrub PEDI ENT surgery, and tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy
- Emergency management competencies: Code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
- Professional skills: Specimen handling/labeling and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
- First-time travelers accepted if they have strong scrub and ENT experience
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
