Description
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 13-26 week assignments available, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Medical/Surgical unit with oncology patient population – administer chemotherapy and biotherapy as needed
- Target patient ratio of 1:6 on a 42-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
- 24-hour orientation with Epic charting and Pyxis medication system
- Float to similar inpatient units as needed; call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
- Oncology certification preferred – facility willing to train and support certification for chemotherapy administration
- First-time travelers welcome with minimum 2 years of RN experience in an inpatient setting
Requirements:
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State license
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification required; Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) or Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Proficiency in Med/Surg skills including colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line care, wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, and isolation precautions
- Ability and willingness to administer chemotherapy/biotherapy (training provided if needed)
- Comfortable managing patients with complex diagnoses including sepsis, AKI, diabetic management with insulin drips, heparin drips, and cancer care
