Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Charleston, West Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM), with one weekend rotation every 4-5 weeks (Friday evening through Monday morning). Weekday call required 2 nights per week (7:00 PM – 6:30 AM). Weekend call rotates every 4-5 weeks with a dual-team system alternating 12-hour primary call coverage.
Highlights:
- High-volume cardiac catheterization laboratory performing 35-45 cases daily with 1:1 staffing ratios
- Comprehensive procedural mix including diagnostic and interventional cardiology, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman, valve repairs), complex PCI, CTO, Impella, IABP, ECMO, and advanced imaging
- State-of-the-art equipment including Siemens Artis Z & Q systems, Philips Volcano IVUS, and Shockwave technology
- 838-bed Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems
- Cerner charting system with onboarding modules completed prior to start date
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week with flexibility to stay until all cases are completed
Requirements:
- Active West Virginia state license or compact license (pending accepted for submission, but active WV license required to start)
- ARRT(R) Radiologic Technologist certification required (RCIS or RCES certifications not accepted in West Virginia)
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac catheterization lab experience required; must be competent in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional procedures including structural heart cases
- Previous travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers not accepted due to high procedural volume and complexity
- Two manager or charge nurse references from the past two years required
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)
