Job Opportunity – Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Blood Bank Specialist) – California

Start Date: June 30, 2026
Location: Orange, California
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, night shift starting 9:30 PM (may flex to 8:00 PM as needed), rotating weekends and holidays

Highlights:

High-volume blood bank position in a 426-bed Magnet-designated acute care facility
Trauma Level I environment processing 30-50 samples daily with extensive type/screen and crossmatch volume
Independent night shift role utilizing Epic Beaker, Wellsky, and Immucor automation
Comprehensive blood bank practice including antibody identification, transfusion reaction workups, and component modification
Free parking and supportive teaching hospital environment

Requirements:

ASCP-BB or ASCP-MLS(ASCP) with Blood Bank specialty certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent/current blood bank experience (within past 2 years) required
Seasoned travel experience with multiple blood bank assignments mandatory
Epic charting system experience required
Large hospital experience (300+ beds) and Trauma Level I experience required
Blood bank software experience (Wellsky and Immucor preferred) required
Must be able to work independently with confidence during night shift
Active California clinical laboratory license required prior to start
LA County Fire Card (within 30 days) required
