Description
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; 13-26 week assignment available
Highlights:
- Neurology-focused Med/Surg unit serving adult and geriatric populations
- Patient ratio of 1:6 on nights; 24-bed unit with manageable daily census
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 24-hour orientation with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Weekend requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts per contract (approximately every other weekend)
- Opportunity to develop charge nurse skills preferred
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale knowledge preferred
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts and peripheral line care
- Experience with CVA patients and neuro care strongly preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- First-time travelers accepted; willingness to float to other units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
