Description
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts OR 12-hour night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs
Highlights:
- Work with a specialized patient population including bone marrow transplant, leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma patients
- Provide care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
- Mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical oncology unit with 36 beds and daily census of 33 patients
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialty services
- 72-hour orientation provided; may float to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed
- One pre-approved time off period available per contract
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
- Current inpatient hematology oncology experience required (minimum 1 year, actively working within the last 12 months)
- Medical-surgical and telemetry experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
