Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Active adult and geriatric medical/surgical unit with approximately 43 daily census
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available
- Patient ratios of 1:6-7 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and respiratory services
- Charge role required for night shift travelers, offering leadership experience
- 24 hours of paid orientation to ensure smooth transition to the unit
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
- Current North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Competency with insulin and heparin drips is mandatory
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Ability to work holidays as assigned and every other weekend
- Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and charge nurse experience preferred

Please note: Contract staff will be assigned to storm/hurricane teams and inclement weather teams, and may be required to report during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations. Participation in monthly unit team meetings is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
