Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Nurse – New Mexico

Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital with 554 staffed beds and Children's Hospital
• High-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 8 births daily, 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 5 PACU beds, and 7-bed OB Triage
• Advanced procedures including cerclage, version, cesarean sections, PPTL, internal/external monitoring, and neonatal palliative care
• Cerner charting system; scrubs provided; no parking fee
• Baby-friendly designated organization with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, and pharmacy
• Contract length minimum 10 weeks with potential for extension

Requirements:

• Active New Mexico RN license (may be pending at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year Labor & Delivery experience in a large, high-volume facility
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (NRP must be in hand upon submission; RQI certifications not accepted)
• Circulating and fetal heart monitoring skills required
• Demonstrated competency in postpartum care, baby catching, and meconium deliveries
• Experience with complex patient populations including preterm labor, preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, multi-gestation, substance use disorder, and high-risk deliveries
• Must reside outside 100-mile local radius
• Willingness to float to antepartum and postpartum units as needed
• On-call requirement: 12 hours over 4 weeks for 48-hour contracts; 24 hours over 4 weeks for 36-hour contracts
