Description
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Self-scheduling with variable weekend shifts based on unit needs; 72-hour orientation provided
Highlights:
- Specialize in hematology and oncology care including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, and sickle cell disease
- Work with a 36-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with an average daily census of 31
- Utilize Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
- Perform advanced oncology procedures including chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, and management of oncologic emergencies
- Float opportunities to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units to expand clinical experience
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and evidence-based patient safety practices
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; OCN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical-Surgical Oncology (must be current within the last 12 months)
- Proficiency with Epic charting system required
- Demonstrated expertise in accessing and managing ports, central line care, chemotherapy administration, and blood product administration
- Experience with oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership position
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
