Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 13-26 week assignment available, every other weekend required, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
- 42-bed medical-surgical unit with oncology patient population
- Comprehensive chemotherapy and biotherapy administration including IV, PO, and injection routes
- 24-hour orientation with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
- Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, respiratory services, and lift teams
- Diverse case mix including sepsis, AKI, cancer diagnoses, diabetic management, and heparin drips
- Facility willing to provide oncology and chemotherapy training and certification support
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient setting; first-time travelers accepted
- BLS certification required
- Must be able to administer chemotherapy; oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred but training provided
- Proficiency in med-surg skills including colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central and PICC line management, wound care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations including ED inpatient holding areas
- Availability for storm team/hurricane team assignments and emergency response as needed
