Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required; block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday)
Highlights:
- Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with a focus on post-surgical care and pain management
- Patient ratios typically 5-6:1 (may flex to 7:1 in extreme circumstances)
- Epic charting system; previous Epic experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers
- 13-week contract with 36 hours of paid orientation
- Up to 7 days of requested time off available (holidays excluded)
- Floating may be required to other med-surg units based on census and staffing needs
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Orthopedic nursing experience required
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Epic charting experience required for first-time travelers
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemptions only)
- First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience; local candidates welcome
