Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 1:6 patient ratio (1:5 on weekends), every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Acute care medical-surgical telemetry unit with 36 beds serving adult and geriatric populations
- Comprehensive case mix including cardiac recovery, renal failure, surgical cases, respiratory conditions, and general medical diagnoses
- 13-20 week contracts available with self-scheduling flexibility
- Robust interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and more
- Epic charting system with 24 hours of paid orientation
- Float opportunities to expand clinical experience across the health system
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central line care, and wound management
- Experience with blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, chest tubes, and feeding tube management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Ability to work major holidays and respond to emergency staffing needs during severe weather events
- Willingness to float to other units within the health system as needed
- First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted
