Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week; 13-20 week contracts available
Highlights:
- Med/Surg-Telemetry unit with 36 beds and manageable patient ratios (1:6 nights, 1:5 weekends)
- Comprehensive patient population including cardiac, renal, respiratory, post-surgical, and general medical cases
- Strong interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
- 24-hour orientation with self-scheduling model
- Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
- First-time travelers welcome with 2+ years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central/PICC line care, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), wound care, ostomy management, and isolation precautions
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
- Flexibility to float to nearby campus locations as needed
- Willingness to work every other weekend and two of three major holidays
- Ability to serve on storm/hurricane response teams during emergencies or disasters
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
