Description
Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715), 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, every other weekend required with minimum 6 weekend shifts per contract
Highlights:
- Comprehensive critical care experience managing complex multisystem patients including sepsis, DKA, COPD, and heart failure
- Advanced skills utilizing ventilator management, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central lines, and invasive monitoring
- EPIC charting system with Tele-ICU and HelloCare support, Pyxis medication management
- Float opportunities to Med-Surg as needed; self-scheduling with 24 hours of unit orientation
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, interpretation services, and dedicated unit support
- 8-bed unit with strong emphasis on advanced critical care procedures and interventions
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU nursing experience required
- Current North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios and EPIC charting system
- Proficiency in critical care skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drip titration, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Competency in advanced procedures: arterial line management, central line care, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
