Description
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights rotating or Nights only). Self-scheduling requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules. Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs. Staffing ratio goal is 1:4, may be 1:5.
Highlights:
- Specialized acute leukemia and hematology unit caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- 24-bed unit with daily census of 22, serving adult and geriatric populations
- EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- 72 hours of orientation: first week Monday-Friday dayshift, second week 36 hours with dedicated preceptor
- High-acuity medical unit with focus on blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience in specialty area required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred but not required
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
- Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and feeding tube management
- EPIC charting experience required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Ability to float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
