Job Opportunity – Postpartum Registered Nurse – Northern California

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Eureka, California

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment with approximately 20 patient visits per day and weekend coverage as needed to meet staffing requirements. Time off requests limited to no more than 7 consecutive days. Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.

Highlights:

  • Postpartum experience preferred with opportunity to support high-risk OB care
  • Work with a culturally diverse patient population in a dynamic, mission-driven environment
  • RNs circulate on cesarean sections and provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care
  • Epic electronic medical record system in place
  • Unit capacity: 11 rooms, 15 beds with average daily census of 15-20 patients
  • 40-hour orientation to support successful onboarding

Requirements:

  • Active California RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of postpartum or related obstetric nursing experience
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Willingness to float to other units within scope of practice as needed to meet facility needs
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Skills must include labor and delivery, postpartum care, newborn assessment, cesarean section support, couplet care, breastfeeding support, and administration of blood products
