Description
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Location: Houston, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Unit operates 24/7 with day and night shifts available; patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1 for laboring patients, 2:1 in Antepartum and PACU
Highlights:
- Join a 35-bed Labor & Delivery unit with a 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center for comprehensive perinatal care
- Work with a robust team of 160 staff members including dedicated charge nurses, surgical techs, and support staff on every shift
- Utilize advanced equipment including Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE core metrics fetal monitoring, and NOVI wireless fetal monitoring systems
- EMR systems include CPN (Centricity) and Meditech for streamlined documentation
- Baby Friendly Designated facility with 24/7 ancillary support from Anesthesia, Neonatal, Laborist, and Hospitalist services
- Participate in a full range of obstetric procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, PACU recovery, and antepartum care with continuous electronic fetal monitoring
Requirements:
- Active Texas RN license or compact state license
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (required)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (required)
- OR circulation experience for cesarean sections (preferred)
- Experience with placement of fetal scalp electrodes (FSE) and intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) (preferred)
- Proficiency with Pitocin and cervical ripening protocols, as well as Magnesium Sulfate, Hydralazine, and Labetalol protocols
