Description
Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 13-26 week assignment, every other weekend required, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
- 42-bed Medical Surgical unit with Oncology patient population requiring chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
- Comprehensive patient care including AKI, sepsis, cancer diagnoses, diabetic management, and complex wound care
- Epic charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 24-hour orientation program with manager willing to support oncology/chemo certification training if needed
- First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of RN experience in an inpatient setting
- Float requirement to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an inpatient medical-surgical setting
- BLS certification required; Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
- Must be able to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV, PO, or injection
- Proficiency in accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line management, PICC lines, wound care, chest tubes, and isolation precautions
- Experience with heparin and insulin drips, surgical drains, and non-invasive airway management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability and willingness to participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments and report during catastrophic events or disasters
