Job Opportunity – Hematology Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Self-scheduling with variable shifts based on unit needs; goal staffing ratio 1:4-1:5; weekend coverage required per unit rotation

Highlights:

• 36-bed Hematology Oncology Med/Surg unit specializing in lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and benign hematology
• Diverse case mix including chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome), and insulin/heparin drips
• 72 hours of orientation including preceptor-led on-unit training
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• Epic EMR charting system with telemetry monitoring on unit
• ONS certification preferred with compensation incentive

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care Med/Surg experience required (must be current within the last 12 months)
• Hematology Oncology experience strongly preferred but not required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Willingness to float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or director)
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon contract signing
