Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse – Southern California

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Mission Hills, California

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule; limited call-off (once per two-week pay period)

Highlights:

• Level III NICU caring for neonates and infants, including extremely low birth weight babies from 23/24 weeks
• 377-bed Magnet-designated acute care facility with average daily census of 15 patients
• Epic charting system; Epic experience strongly preferred
• 36-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Potential to float to nursery or baby transition role during high delivery volumes (routine newborn care, assessments, breastfeeding support)
• Advanced neonatal interventions including therapeutic hypothermia, HFOV, jet ventilation, NIRS, umbilical lines, and PICC placement

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to start; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and LA Fire Card (within last 30 days)
• Experience with 1:2 or 1:3 patient ratios
• Proficiency in core NICU skills including ventilator management, umbilical line care, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Preferred: Cue-based feeding experience and familiarity with donor human milk protocols
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
