Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Ohio

Start Date: August 24, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours per week), including weekend rotation and holidays. Estimated patient ratio 1:3.

Highlights:

• Work with an adult and geriatric patient population in a progressive medical-surgical telemetry environment
• Utilize Epic EMR system in a modern, well-supported clinical setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Gain experience with heparin and insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and advanced telemetry monitoring
• Float opportunities within the health system to expand clinical skills and experience
• Comprehensive orientation and ergonomic equipment support provided

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Must provide 2 professional references, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership role

Key Skills:

• Central line and PICC line management
• Blood product administration and phlebotomy
• Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias with on-unit telemetry monitoring
• IV insulin and heparin protocol management, including titration of insulin drips
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and non-invasive airway management
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis management
• Experience with feeding tubes, PCA pumps, and isolation precautions
