Description
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days/Nights or Nights only (rotating schedules reviewed every 4-week period based on department needs). 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Float requirements to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units of equivalent or lower acuity.
Highlights:
- 36-bed oncology unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers
- Comprehensive patient care including continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and comorbidity management
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
- Epic EMR system required; 72 hours of orientation provided
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and social services
- Work with specialized equipment including GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and bladder scanners
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care required; oncology experience preferred but not required
- Current, active acute care experience within the last 12 months strongly preferred
- Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Proficiency in skills including dysrhythmia interpretation, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV starts, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
