Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Med-Surg RN – Ohio

Start Date: September 20, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-16 week assignment with varying shift assignments based on unit needs. Orientation includes 72 hours of onboarding.

• 36-bed specialty unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
• Mixed assignment model: some shifts PCU (1:3 ratio), some shifts Med-Surg (1:4-5 ratio)
• Epic charting system in use
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Unique corrections healthcare environment with strong emphasis on staff safety protocols
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience in specialty area
• Recent and consistent experience within the last 12 months required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Core competencies: telemetry monitoring, central line management, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula, feeding tube management, and chest tube management
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete urgent fingerprinting requirements for Ohio corrections clearance
