Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts, weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Highlights:

• Care for patients in a specialized Progressive Care Unit focused on abdominal transplant patients including kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants
• Maintain a manageable patient ratio of approximately 1:5
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all documentation
• Work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Opportunity for RNs with as little as 1 year of PCU experience to be considered
• Comprehensive support services and unit secretarial assistance available

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Valid compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with central line care, PICC line management, and accessing/managing ports
• Familiarity with IV insulin protocols and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references required: one from a manager/director or formal leadership position, second may be from a charge RN
